Using the comprehensive scripting environment


The Ventuz Designer Professional Edition comes with a comprehensive scripting environment that grants programmers access to the very core of the software. Feel free to completely develop your own components including properties, methods and events! Originally designed as an application not requiring any coding skills, Ventuz Designer Professional Edition presents itself as an open .NET managed software framework offering C#, J# and VB. The scripting environment infinitely enhances the capabilities of the Ventuz Designer Professional Edition.

This two day hands-on course will teach participants with programming experience the skills to control Ventuz scenes and presentations with inserted scripts. Another important part of this workshop is the development of scripts for controlling presentations, running on different PCs at the same time.

Attendance in the Ventuz beginners and advanced course or equivalent knowledge from other Ventuz projects, experience in a programming language like C#

  • Possibilities of scripting in Ventuz 2008
  • C# Scripting in Ventuz:
    • Declaring of methods, events, in-and outputs
    • Usage of the Ventuz C# node to realize complex projects
  • Open Sound Control (OSC):
    • Communication of two Ventuz PCs via OSC
    • Creating a Windows OSC Application to synchronize the control of several Ventuz PCs (Multicasting)
    • OSCReceiver: Receiving OSC Bundles in an external application
  • .NET Remoting
    • Creating a Windows application to control externalized parameters in Ventuz
    • Visualisation of snapshots of the Ventuz Renderer in a self-programmed application
    • Reading externalized parameter in a self-programmed application
